There are other male supermodels out there such as Marcus Schenkenburg (sp?), but he does make a good point about Tyra and her show. America's Next Top Model is one of the greatest reality shows on television which could only mean the authenticity is non-existant. New York City is one of the four prime fashion capitals (the other three being Milan, Paris and Tokyo) while LA is a half-effort fashion capital, which means the fashion over there is its own thing since New York City is so far away. Haute couture is not imitated or created in LA but it is in the latter. Most models don't think, "I'm gonna go to LA and become famous" they use the city as a place to hop on over to New York City. You can get a few jobs in LA but valuable recognition can only occur in one of the four major fashion capitals. Also, during the Cycle 4 Tyra started working on her talkshow in LA. Hence, she brought ANTM to that city to make things convenient despite the risks of looking irrelavant to the fashion industry which favors the other fashion capital.
