Tyra Banks is on the cover of the February 2008 issue of Essence Magazine.
Tyra Banks is being dissed by Tyson Beckford, who is the co-host of Bravo’s new series “Make Me a Supermodel”.Beckford who apparently dislikes Tyra told Page Six:
“Tyra? Are you joking? I’m the only male supermodel there is, the only one who can make a supermodel,” “Do you think Tyra can just call up Naomi Campbell and ask her to teach these kids how to walk the runway? Please! You know Tyra and Naomi aren’t cool like that right? And we’re in New York, Tyra’s in L.A. Nothing’s going on in L.A. [My models] will go on go-sees, be doing what it takes where the action is, in New York. Please!”

tyson u are a good for nothing son of a b**ch. If u dislike tyra why make an appearance on ANTM last season. i think it is a compliment to u disregarding of what u are trying to do with what ever ur show is, which matter of a fact makes no sense.there is no other model show that can come in close ranks or class, taste ,excitement or experience as ANTM. so all u wanabes out there stop trying because tyra as a Monopoly of the model reality world.
I think that Tyson Beckford is a bit catty when it comes to being a male supermodel. There are other male supermodels out there such as Marcus Schenkenburg (sp?), but he does make a good point about Tyra and her show. America’s Next Top Model is one of the greatest reality shows on television which could only mean the authenticity is non-existant. New York City is one of the four prime fashion capitals (the other three being Milan, Paris and Tokyo) while LA is a half-effort fashion capital, which means the fashion over there is its own thing since New York City is so far away. Haute couture is not imitated or created in LA but it is in the latter.
Most models don’t think, “I’m gonna go to LA and become famous” they use the city as a place to hop on over to New York City. You can get a few jobs in LA but valuable recognition can only occur in one of the four major fashion capitals.
Also, during the Cycle 4 Tyra started working on her talkshow in LA. Hence, she brought ANTM to that city to make things convenient despite the risks of looking irrelavant to the fashion industry which favors the other fashion capital.
