I say it’s a compliment, because great beauties are admired for their beauty which will fade anyway…. MRS. OBAMA being considered someone who has a superb quality that won’t fade. IS NOT AN INSULT….
Iman acknowledging that physical beauty fades is her saying to everyone that she is aware of the industry around her and that she is aware of herself….

We black people need to understand the lines before we start reading between them!!!!

She didn’t “slam” Lady Obama. Most of us women in the world aren’t what the media portrays as great beauties. It’s not a “diss”, this is coming from a supermodel. She even says that those that are considered great beauties go downhill and Michelle will just look and be better as time goes on.

I believe that she made this statement because of a lack of self love. That statement is nothing but an outward mainfestion of how she feels about her own personal looks. In Africa she grew up in an environment where she was not as accepted because the was considered to be too “skinny”. She was only accepted in American because of her wafer thin body. I guess it is hard for her to grasp that American’s image of beauty is now becoming more diverse and less bias. She probably is wondering where she fits in now as far as “beauty” is concerned!

Beauty is really inside and it shows outside. Strip away the makeup and what do you get if a person has no character. Character takes you a long ,long, long way. Brains take you even farther when the looks are gone. she teaches how to give of yourself and help people every where. I agree with Angela. This is a very misleading headline. I do not think that Iman was insulting Mrs. Obama but rather giving her a very esteemed and appropriate compliment. Mrs. Obama is the essence of so many beautiful attributes that make up for a woman who stands in a different class.

Media… it can be so misleading and unfortunately has the power to cause strife, misconceptions etc… Sad but true.
