“I am not thinking about my blood pressure although my doctor has been on me to check it during rehearsals, so I have to stop and check it.”“I’m competing with myself because I don’t want to be the victim because people will be like, ‘Toni has heart disease, oh she is a victim.’”

Apparently Toni Braxton is currently struggling against a potentially fatal heart condition.Braxton who was hospitalized with chest pains in April and had to cancel her shows suffers from a weakened heart valve that could trigger a deadly heart attack.The National Enquirer reports:

“Toni’s lenghty history of health problems has contributed to a damaged heart valve. The valve is very weak, and even the slightest bit of overexertion could result in a rupture of heart failure.”“Toni’s health is so fragile that she’s being ordered to stay in bed as much as possible and to limit her physical activity.”“The surgery is very dangerous and there’s no guarantee it would be successful….Toni has been told that, in many cases, this condition can be stabilized with medication and bed rest. But if that doesn’t work, she could literally drop dead of heart failure.”

Toni Braxton has canceled her show called Toni Braxton: Revealed at The Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.Braxton is stepping away from the stage to focus on her health. Toni took a leave of absence from the show after being hospitalized for chest pains in April.

Toni Braxton was taken to the hospital for chest pains and was forced to cancel four dates of her Las Vegas performance.The cause of the chest pain was not immediately known but Braxton reportedly has been treated in the past for pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the heart.Braxton is recovering at home following her release yesterday afternoon after precautionary tests were taken.

*Toni Braxton is suing ex-manager Barry Hankerson, claiming he owes her $10 million after convincing her to leave longtime label Arista and sign to his Blackground Records, AP reports. Hankerson used “underhanded double-talk” to convince the singer that “Arista was not interested in working with her anymore, while telling Arista that Braxton no longer wanted to record for Arista.” A telephone listing for Blackground was not in service, according to AP.
