Soulja Boy recently sat down with MTV where he claimed to be the hottest MC in the game and even added that he was better than Jay-Z, Kanye West.
On not being on MTV’s “Hottest MCs in the Game” list he said:
“I think if y’all did it right now, yeah, I deserve to be on there,”"But back there, when y’all did it, I probably didn’t have the status that I have right now.”I’m Grammy-nominated,” “If I look at the new list and I compare myself to all 10 of the artists and some don’t add up, I’ll be like, ‘Wow. I should be #1 if it’s right now. I’m #1.”
On MCs like Weezy, Kanye and Jay-Z he said:
“Right now, yes [I'm hotter than them],”Today, January — whatever the date this is — 2008, yes [I am the hottest],”"
Soulja Boy “Crank Dat” Tops Three Million Downloads

According to Top40-Charts, Soulja Boy’s “Crank Dat” track has become the first ever song to top three million downloads of a digital track/song. Soulja Boy said:
I can’t thank my fans enough, without them all of this wouldn’t have been possible. The support they give me is beyond incredible. I have so many Soulja Boy Tell’em projects ready and I will continue to give them what they need in 2008,
Steve Berman, president of sales and marketing for Interscope Geffen A&M Records, said in a statement:
Soulja Boy has set the bar for what’s possible in terms of breaking an artist online.He’s been doing it since day one, before he was signed here, so I’m not surprised he’s setting a record today. Soulja Boy is out there on the frontier, showing everyone else what’s possible.
