R. Kelly Child-Pornography Trial has finally gotten a date which is set on May 9,2008.
After six years of incessant delays, R. Kelly will be facing the music on the 14 counts of child pornography filed against him in 2002 for allegedly videotaping himself having sex with an allegedly underage girl.
Kelly, who is now 40, has pleaded not guilty to the charges and faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

R.Kelly’s Publicist Regina Daniels Quits

R.Kelly’s long-time publicist Regina Daniels has officially resigned.
Regina worked with Kelly for over 14 years and issued the following statement :
Friends and Colleagues – After careful consideration and counsel, I have decided to formally announce my resignation as publicist for R&B artist R. Kelly.
My resignation was effective as of August 28, 2007. Throughout the course of my 25 years as a publicist, I have prided myself on loyalty, respect and professionalism. It saddens me that I was not always shown those same courtesies during my 14 year tenure as Mr. Kelly’s publicist.
Though I have a great appreciation for Mr. Kelly as an artist, there are some lines that should never be crossed professionally or personally. Mr. Kelly crossed a line that forever altered the scope of our relationship. For this reason I made the decision to resign.
My husband, music retailer George Daniels, has also disassociated himself from Mr. Kelly. George and I are grateful for the show of support and encouragement that we have already received from many of you. We want you to know that we thank you, sincerely. Without change, progress is impossible.”Keeping that in mind, I am excited to tell you that my agency, Daniels Entertainment Group, has an incredible year of expansion and success planned for 2008. Be on the lookout for an update in the near future!”
A loyal reader of MWZA who lives in Chicago told us that the reason why Regina resigned is because Kelly wanted her along with her husband George to lie for him in court.
Apparently she refused and quit one day before one of his appearances in front of the judge.
R. Kelly Child Pornography Trial Delayed Again
R. Kelly’s child pornography trial,has been postponed again.
The long-delayed trial was set to begin on September 17th, but now has no definitive start date.
Cook County Judge Vincent Gaughan reportedly said on Tuesday:
“We are not going to be going to trial the 17th of September,”
The R&B superstar was charged five years ago.

Woman to deny she was R. Kelly’s victim
According to the Chicago Sun-Times,R. Kelly’s lawyers plan to call to the stand the woman prosecutors say was the underage girl in the sex video,when the ‘I believe , I can fly’ singer goes on trial for alleged child pornography on Sept. 17.
The woman, who turns 23 in September, is expected to deny she is the girl in the video, which shows a man prosecutors say is Kelly engaging in sex acts with and urinating on the child.
Prosecutors are expected to call to the stand her friends, relatives, friends’ parents and others to testify she was the girl in the video and appears to be about 14 when it was made.
The 40-year-old singer-songwriter of ‘Trapped in the closet’, who has sold more than 37 million albums, faces up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.
R. Kelly child-pornography going to trial
R. Kelly’s child-pornography case is finally going to trial.At a hearing in Chicago on Wednesday,a judge said the trial will begin on September 17.
A spokesperson for the singer told MTV News:
“As Robert [Kelly] said many times, he believes in our system of justice,” “He is looking forward to finally having his day in court. He’s confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear he’s not guilty of any crime.”
If the self proclaimed Pied Piper of RnB is convicted of the charges, he faces a prison term of up to 15 years and a fine of up to $100,000.
R. Kelly Heads Back In The ‘Closet’ On New DVD
MWZA reported last week that R.Kelly was going back to “The Closet”.
Now we have more details on the piece.
According to Billboard.com :
The new round of “Trapped” videos finds Kelly portraying an old man named Randolph, complete with a pot belly and a fake white beard that nearly falls off mid-scene, as well as a preacher in a gray Jheri-curl wig and garish orange suit. In one of the final chapters, Kelly’s Sylvester character talks business with a “Sopranos”-esque mobster who is eating a giant plate of spaghetti.
“Trapped in the Closet,” will be released on DVD Aug. 21 via Jive. Read more
