After the Grammys “queen incident” where Aretha Franklin slammed Beyoncé honoring Tina Turner as the “queen” now she is being attacked by animal rights group PETA thinks she’s not a queen but a joker.
In a letter to Franklin, PETA spokesperson Dan Matthews wrote:
Detroit - “Music lovers may think of you as a ‘queen,’ but to animal lovers, you are a court jester. I’m sorry, Aretha, but your furs make you look like a clown.” So begins a letter sent today to Aretha Franklin by PETA Vice President Dan Mathews in the wake of Franklin’s post-Grammy outburst over Beyoncé’s comment referring to Tina Turner as “the queen.”
“Why not shed the old-fashioned look that adds pounds to your frame and detracts from your beautiful voice?” continues Mathews. “Please consider donating your furs to the homeless as ‘queen of compassion,’ Mariah Carey, did. You’ll get a tax credit for the donation, and we at PETA will all sing your praises.”Sincerely,
Dan Mathews
Vice President
PETA
Furs that are donated to PETA’s program are distributed to the needy at homeless shelters around the country, and the group has also shipped hundreds of furs to women and children in Afghanistan and Iraq.
