Beyonce Knowles To Play Etta James In New Film

Beyoncé Knowles is set to play legendary singer Etta James in a new movie called Cadillac Records written and directed by Darnell Martin.Sources say:

“Beyoncé is a massive fan of the superb Etta. She’s honored to play her.”

Columbus Short, Cedric the Entertainer, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Tammy Blanchard are also casted in the film.Filming starts in early March in New Jersey and Mississippi.

Beyonce? You must be kidding- right? This should go to Chrisette Michelle no doubt about it. Come on! Where are the great casting directors when you need them. Beyonce is my girl and all but this is not right.

Another period piece? Is this Beyoncé’s latest attempt to snag that Oscar she covets so much? Maybe she’ll get it this time, unless Adrien outshines her like Jennifer Hudson did in Dreamgirls.
