Alicia Keys’ Best Friend Erika Rose Speaks Of The Gay Rumors
Alicia Keys was pictured at the 2007 American Music Awards Press Room this past weekend.Erika Rose who is Keys’ longtime best friend ,former personal assistant,manager,and co-writer of ”A Woman’s Worth” explained why Alicia feels she needs to shield and protect herself.
”When we would walk down the street and she would get whistled at by men, she would get so bothered,” ”She forced herself into wearing baggy clothes and putting her hair in a bun. She would dress almost to be unattractive.”
Erika reveals that it is Keys tomboyish style that rumors of her being gay exist.But she insists that Keys has a man in her life .Rose says:
”She understands why people might’ve thought that,””She was a little rough around the edges with her Timberlands and jeans and braids and rough talk.” But Brothers is an undeniable presence. ”Clearly,”’’she has a man in her life.”
I don’t buy it. But out is bad for business in her demographic.

If Alicia is gay it is her business.If she ever comes out publically, it will be at her pace and when she is ready to share that with the world. She knows that some people are homophobic and I am sure she doesn’t want to deal with the negativism that would ensue if she came out. Get a life !!!!

i’ve experience the same criticism in High Skool. Cuz i was a tom boy and i don’t give a s#!t wat other people thought of my style. An so rumors would go around that i’m gay but my friend would back me up an say to those that ask dat question or thought me to be that i’m not. And to make it even WORSE my Sister was a Lesbo so dat made it seem even more true but i got much love 4 my sis an nothing can tar us apart .
